Vegas Bride: Las Vegas Wedding Photographer

    July 23rd, 2010 | Destination Wedding, Wedding

Here is a sneak peak from a couple I had the pleasure of photographing in Las Vegas. I wasn’t allowed to photograph during the ceremony since the resort has a contract with another photographer but after the wedding we were able to get some fun shots!  Here is one of my favorites.

Mary is stunning! A guy even hit on her as we walked down the street while she was with her new husband and in a wedding gown!

    June Bride: Louisiana Wedding Photographer

July 17th, 2010 | Houmas House Wedding, Louisiana Wedding Photographer, Wedding

The Houmas House is one of my favorite wedding venues. When Megan and I arrived to shoot this wedding, the bride was being made up by Tina with Bridal Beauty Consulting, she did an AMAZING job on the girls. I hate when brides look overdone, Chrissy was very natural and flawless.

Can we just take a minute to talk about how fabulous these shoes are? Fabulous is not a word that I find myself using in everyday conversation but there is no other way to describe these beauties.

It is so true that great things come in small packages. This bracelet had blue gems on the ends and was her something blue.

Tucker and Chrissy opted to do first look. First look is the only option if you want great pictures on your wedding day especially if you are having a wedding at sunset.

What a great looking bridal party! My friend was visiting me while I was editing this wedding and she said “Geez all of her bridesmaids are gorgeous!” I have to agree

I LOVE photographing the grandparents at the wedding. And this is one of my favorite grandparent pictures! I always wonder what grandparents think about during the wedding. Are they remembering their wedding day?

Their first walk as Man and Wife.

I love this room at The Houmas House. As the bridal party is about to enter the reception, they take you into this room for some soup or gumbo.

    Procrastination….and a Mexican treat

    April 1st, 2010 | Personal, Travel, Wedding

I hate hate hate that I am such a procrastinator. So in light of doing better, I am procrastinating on the work I should be doing so that I can bring you some lovely images from The Jose Villa workshop I attended in November that I have procrastinated on posting since then…. Make sense?? wow that sure is a runon sentence, but if you have been reading my blog long that shouldn’t be new to you, I am terrible at grammar and spelling and such get over it :)

First off I must give credit where credit is due. These photos were made possible by an amazing team of people:

Jose VillaTEAM Hair and Makeup / Stylist: Matthew Johns /  Location: Hacienda Del Carmen / Jill La Fleur /Jessica Claire / Joel Serrato / Citro Modelos

Attending this workshop was such a great investment for my business and excuse the cheesyness of it but also for my soul. The hacienda was so incredible, so serene and naturally beautiful. I met so many amazing photographers and learned as much from the other workshop attendees as I did from Jose.

From the moment I stepped foot on the grounds of the hacienda I was in awe. Even though it was the middle of the night by the time I got there, and I wanted to PASS out from exhaustion, I wanted to stay up all night and explore that beautiful place! I literally couldn’t believe the grandeur of it. Jose had every detail worked out and it seemed that each day it was better and better. I have to say that one of my favorite things was the the first official night. Jose had arranged for a mariachi band and traditional Mexican dancers to entertain us for hours while we enjoyed hor dourves & drinks. I literally almost cried when they started playing (and I am SERIOUSLY absolutely not… for real not kidding, a big cryer). I could go on and on about what a great time we had, and how much I loved it, but I don’t want to bore you anymore so here are some photos of the Hacienda Del Carmen.

This may have been my favorite spot of the Hacienda. I LOVE the stairs. and the photo to the left is what you got to once you went up the stairs. If I could just put my office up there I would be in heaven…. Well almost heaven, there would need to be an ocean out there too :)

This is on the inside of the front porch from the first photo of the post.

By far my favorite picture of the dancers…. And me and the first person I met while in Mexico, Kim Ing

This is my favorite one from the engagement shoot…. i think?….

**Sad that that was the last picture?? No worries, there is a Part II to this post coming soon!

    Jake and Kayla {Married}

February 26th, 2010 | Louisiana Wedding Photographer, Wedding

This is a tiny bit late…. but here are some photos from a wedding back in October. This couple and their guests were SO MUCH FUN! Here are a few fof my favorites. There are some funny dancing ones! These people were cracking me up the ENTIRE reception!

I went to check in with the groomsmen and they were hiding out in the church’s nursery. It just looked funny to me so here they are all having a seat at the kiddie table with a toy.

    And the lovely couple!

Here they are looking a little more dignified :)

    See what I mean… fun!

Here are the little people taking a break.

    Here are the fancy dancers!

An Engagement : Louisiana Engagement Photography

January 31st, 2010 | Louisiana Engagement photographer, Wedding

I love it when couples are so in love and up to anything. With this crazy weather we had to reschedule their appointment, but thankfully we were able to shoot on one of those beautiful days where the temperature was around 60-70 degrees.

The image to the right is my FAVORITE! The most beautiful light ever! If I could only shoot in one condition the rest of my life it would be in this light.

When I asked them what their favorite things to do were, one of the things he said was that he like to play basketball… Soooo I had to do a little test to see just how high he could jump :)
