The Best Things In Life Are Free (well sometimes): Louisiana Family Portraits

September 1st, 2010 | Baton rouge Children's Photographer, Louisiana Children's Photographer, Louisiana Family Portrait Photographer, Studio

Here are a few of my favorites from this weekend’s free sessions! These are some sneak peeks for the moms until I get the galleries posted. I don’t always post alot of day to day stuff on the blog. This is a good example of the bread and butter of Amy Martin Photography. Not every session is in a remote location with furniture and crazy props, although I LOVE that, we still need a something somewhat tradtional to give to grandmas for Christmas.

These little cuties were the first session of the day. They braved the rain clouds and the wet grass.

What do you do when 2 out of three kiddos are crying? Turn them around for a looking away shot. Don’t worry mom, we got some great individuals! I love the photo on the right. Sometimes it is really hard to get a sibling that is a little older to hold the baby in a perfect way, but he nailed it!

You may remember this little girl from what might be the most popular maternity picture on my blog. Check it out here!

This girl is an old friend of mine. She admitted to me that this was their first professional family photograph besides portrait innovations, she also admitted that she didn’t tell her husband about the session until the night before because she thought he wouldn’t wanna do pictures. I am proud to say that we finished their session in about 20 minutes or less. I am pretty sure dad enjoyed himself, or at least didn’t feel tortured :)

Here are mom and dad having a little fun

Do these kids look like models or what?? I have to commend the mom on the awesome outfits. People if you are about to schedule an appointment,  Crew Cuts is your friend.

Okay the mom is probably going to kill me but it is too funny not to show.

In the first picture she is flipping me off, and in the second picture she is praising God for helping her change her ways.

I heart little boys with long hair

These two little girls did Awesome considering it rained a slow light mist most of thier session.

This picture cracks me up, looks like big sister is getting an earful.

I love this family. Looks like this dad better get some guns handy for the boys at the door. His daughters are GORGEOUS!

    Sweet Baby Girl: {Newborn Photographer}

June 3rd, 2010 | Babies, Baton rouge Children's Photographer, Louisiana Children, Louisiana Children's Photographer, Louisiana Family Portrait Photographer, Newborn Photography, Studio

One of our dear friends became a mother last month. I was supposed to shoot baby Emorie’s birth but she came while I was on my trip to China. But luckily she came at the perfect time to still be a week old when I was back. A week or less is THE BEST time to do newborn photos.

Here are a few from her session

I love the picture of little Ben! Especially of him in the basket on the floor. Can’t wait to do our 3rd and then 4th photo session, back-to-back, when our little man comes in November. I just know the birth photos will look great!

New Life: Baton Rouge Newborn Photographer

October 8th, 2009 | Baton Rouge, Baton rouge Children's Photographer, Louisiana Children's Photographer, Newborn Photography, Studio

How sweet is he?? I have had alot of babies recently and it was a sweet treat to have this little guy come in for his newborn portraits at 1 week. There is a major difference from a baby less than 10 days and a one month old. I strongly suggest coming in earlier rather than later.  The goal of a newborn portrait session is to capture that sweet sleepy curled up baby, usually after a month it is a challenge to capture that and when you do it is mostly luck.

We did his session at our new Downtown Baton Rouge Portrait Studio.

He kept giving me those “gas smiles” or maybe he was having sweet dreams who knows. But I love them!

I know how you feel: Louisiana Children’s Portrait Photographer

August 29th, 2009 | Babies, Baton Rouge, Baton rouge Children's Photographer, Louisiana Children, Louisiana Children's Photographer, Newborn Photography, Studio

This little guy is such a sweetie! His aunt brought him in for his first set of professional photos. To say that she is in love with him would be an understatement. She is helping out her brother who is a single father, she has been caring for the baby while he works.Even getting up all night with him so dad can rest for work, how awesome is that!

Poor little guy has acid reflux, which if you have never experienced count yourself lucky. My daughter had it while she was a baby and it is NO picnic! I remember carrying bath towels around to use to burp her, and always smelling of baby throw up…. anyway…. just wanted to explain the title of I know how you feel :)

How cute is this? These were his dad’s!

This is such a great picture to depict the epitome of a 2-3 month old! And also to show off the fabulous rug in the waiting area of the new studio :)

Attack of the 3 month olds: Louisiana Children’s photographer

July 19th, 2009 | Babies, Baton Rouge, Baton rouge Children's Photographer, Louisiana Children, Louisiana Children's Photographer, Studio

So they aren’t all 3 months old exactly. But they are all right around that age. Not a newborn but not 6 months old and able to sit up. To me this is the most challenging age to photograph because they  can’t sit up, but they don’t want to lay down. But we were successful and got some really cute shots! Excuse the multi-session post, but I am so behind!

This little girl loved to stick her tongue out!!!

    See what I mean?

But here she is sleeping! How sweet is this?

This little guy was the size of a newborn. He was so sweet.

I love this little spot for a sleepy newborn, this guy wasn’t a BIG fan of the log, but I still love the picture!

And who can resist the toes?

This little girl came all the way from Atlanta! I wanted to steal her!

And here is her beautiful mom!
